Tirzepatide is also a peptide; it is commonly known as Mounjaro. It is a GLP1-RD so it contains Semaglutide and another chemical (GIP). Semaglutide works by slowing down the rate in which food is digested. GLP1-RD works by increasing incretin secretion which further promotes satiety.
Common side effects include:
n/v, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, diabetic retinopathy, eructation, appetite decrease (pill form), hypoglycemia (injection form), dyspepsia, abdominal distention (pill form), GERD, flatulence, gastritis, injection site reaction, and an increase in lipase and amylase.
Contraindicated in people with:
History of pancreatitis, history of alcoholism, renal problems, pregnancy, diabetic retinopathy, diabetes type I, hypersensitivity to drug or ingredient, medullary thyroid cancer, family history of medullary thyroid cancer, or multiple neoplasia syndrome type 2
